Out and About in Whitby
Please look below at some of the photo’s we have taken in and around wonderful Whitby.
Whitby is a quaint fishing village on the North East Coast, surrounded by the outstanding North York Moors.
It has cobbled streets and quirky shops. The Abbey dominates the headland, next to St Mary’s Church and graveyard, which inspired the story of Dracula. Whitby is famous for it’s fish and chips, but we also have some fantastic restaurants and trendy bars.
The beautiful blue flag beach, with its colourful beach huts, stretches to Sandsend, just a 3 mile stroll, if you wish you can continue around the cliffs to Kettleness.
The North Yorkshire Moors Railway runs from Whitby to Pickering daily, and holds event weekends, and a fantastic Pullman service, for lunches, afternoon tea and evening meals, including Murder Mystery nights.
There is always plenty to do in Whitby, from crazy golf to visiting museums, boat rides and fishing trips. Not to mention all the feature weekends, 60’s, and 70’s, Northern Soul, Goth, Folk, Traction engine and Regatta.
Whitby has a great Golf course, and if you stay with us, we can book you two for one on the course.
Just a short drive takes you to Danby, and the visitor centre, where numerous country walks start and finish.
A little further down the coast you’ll come across Robin Hoods Bay and Scarborough.
