The Leeway – Terms and Conditions

Thank you for choosing to book with The Leeway. We look forward to welcoming you. When you make this booking you are entering an agreement with us. Please read our terms and conditions of booking below.

Prices and Deposits:
The price includes accommodation & breakfast. We ask for a deposit equal to the first nights stay, payable by debit or credit card. We accept the following forms of payment on arrival: cash, debit or credit cards. Please note: From 1st January 2018 we cannot accept Cheques. Payments only by Cash, Debit, Credit Card or *BACS transfer (* By Prior Arrangement Only)

Children:  Children age 10 and above are welcome, as long as they are responsible enough to stay in a room by themselves, as we have no family rooms or children’s facilities.

Pets:
Pets are not permitted.

Cancellation Policy:
Once you have booked your stay, our agreement is a legal contract. If you need to cancel please contact us immediately. Any deposit you may have paid or that we are holding, is non-refundable or transferable. For cancellations made up to 28 days before your booking you will be charged the first nights stay. For cancellations made after this time you will be liable for the total amount. The full amount will be taken on the day of cancellation.  We will try our best to re let the room, and if we manage to do so, you will not have to pay for the nights we manage to re-sell, and will be refunded the difference.  (apart from the first nights stay, which is non refundable or transferable). By failing to take up the booking without cancelling you will be liable for the total amount, and your card will be debited accordingly.

Changes due to Covid-19. Temporary Changes until 30th November (revised 5th Oct)

If you have symptoms of Covid-19, or have been told to self isolate, at the time you have a booking with us, we will not charge you for the booking, and will keep the deposit until a future date (arranged at the time). We will require proof of the track and trace letter, in order to transfer your booking

If you do not contact us, and fail to arrive, you will still be liable for the total amount.

 If you start with symptoms while you are here, you must inform us immediately on 01947 602604 or 07803634031, and if safe to do so, should return home to self isolate.  You will still be required to pay the full amount of your stay.

If you start with symptoms while you are here, and are not able to return home, and have to self isolate in our b&b, there will be a charge for loss of revenue, and an additional cost relating to provisions of your stay.  You must check with your insurance prior to arrival, to check that you are covered for this eventuality.

If you go into a local lockdown, where only essential travel is permitted, we will hold your deposit against a future stay to be taken by March 2021, subject to availability. 

If we had to cancel your booking, because of a Covid 19 Lockdown:  If you were due to stay with us, we would contact  you and hold your deposit for a future date.  If you were already staying with us, we would have to ask you to leave, and if you had already paid in full, would refund you the nights that you could not stay, or if you had only paid a deposit, charge you for the nights you had stayed.

We strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance to cover this holiday. Booking a holiday in the UK should not be seen as any different to booking a foreign holiday in insurance terms. Just because we are a small business you should not consider your booking in a different light to that of any larger tour operator.

Non-availability:
We would only cancel your booking if your accommodation was unavailable for reasons beyond our control. We would attempt to offer you alternative accommodation, within 12 months of the original date.

Arrival:
Arrival time is between 12pm and 1pm or between 5pm and 9pm. (very latest check in time is 9pm). You may arrive early through the day and register, leave your bags and collect your keys. (Please note we aim to have all rooms ready by 12:30 so if you arrive earlier your room may not be ready). If you are travelling by train or coach, we can arrange a check in time to suit you, if you let us know in advance. Estimated times of arrival are always appreciated.

Departure:
Please be ready to leave your accommodation by 10:00 on the day of departure. It may be possible for you to leave your bags with us, if you are staying in Whitby for the day.

Damages and Breakages:
Please take care with our accommodation. You are responsible and liable for any breakages or damages which you cause to the accommodation or its contents. Please report these as soon as they occur. We do not normally charge for minor breakages, but we may send you an invoice for repair or making good if the damage or breakage is significant, and we may make an additional charge if you did not report this.

Smoking Policy:
We are 100% NON SMOKING. Any one found smoking will be asked to leave & charged £50:00 for the extra cleaning of the room.

Liability:
We do not accept any liability for any damage, loss or injury to any member of your party or any vehicles or possessions, unless proven to be caused by a negligent act by ourselves or our employees or contractors whilst acting in the course of employment.

Data:
Any data gathered during the course of this booking may be held on computer.

Facebook Competition June 2020 – Competition Closed

To celebrate re-opening after Covid 19, we are giving away 2 nights B&B (for 2 people sharing a room)

You must be 18 or over to enter

The stay is for 2 consecutive nights, and must be taken between the 12th of July and 18th of December 2020 (subject to availability). Some event/bank holiday weekends are a minimum of 3 nights, so if you chose to take your 2 free nights on those weekends, you would have to pay for 1 night also.

The prize cannot be swapped for money, or transferred.  The winner cannot give this prize away.

This Give away closes at 23.59 on Wednesday 8th July.

We will contact the winner via Facebook, and private message through Facebook on Thursday 9th July.

The winner must telephone us on 01947 602604 within 2 weeks of winning the prize, to make their booking.(by 23rd July).

This prize can not be used for an existing booking with us, it must be a new booking.
